The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) has a range of fully integrated, high performance weapons, services, administrative and technical units. Its formations and infantry, armoured and artillery brigades, as well as the Sultan of Oman’s Parachute and support units, are supplied with firepower control, air defence weaponry and all the support equipment used in modern warfare, including missile launchers and other weapons capable of meeting the demands of joint operations.

The Firqat Forces have been significantly upgraded in areas such as training, organization, installations, services, utilities and communications. The Medical Services possess state-of-the-art equipment to ensure efficient medical support and battlefield evacuation services as well as advanced medical care for the men of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and their families. The Force Medical School (FMS) provides first class training, while the flying doctor’s services reach every corner of the country.
