The Notary-Public Departments of Oman

Sponsored Links

The Notary-Public Departments, which are covered by their own law promulgated under Royal Decree No. 40/2003, play a vital role in safe guarding rights and entitlements and ensuring that working practices and legal transactions are conducted in a smooth and efficient manner.

The Departments produce documents and deeds, attest signatures, confirm the dates on unofficial documents and papers and produce marriage documents, divorce certificates, widowhood confirmation documents and other papers. There are around 60 Notary-Public Departments in different parts of the country. They are independent departments and can be found in all the former Sharia courts.
