Tenders worth RO305m awarded

MUSCAT: The Tender Board yesterday held its 30th meeting for 2010 under the chairmanship of Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) Board of
Governors and chairman of the Tender Board.
The board awarded tenders worth RO305,875,863 for the following projects; construction of Salalah new airport worth RO294,109,999; supply and installation of five forecast radars for the Transport and Communications Ministry worth RO4,274,620; converting the aerial power lines, low tension 11kv, to ground cables in Sidab area in Muscat Governorate worth RO1,806,003; converting the aerial power lines, low tension 11kv, to ground cables in some parts in Muscat Governorate worth RO1,606,606; construction of Alahnaf Bin Qais school for basic education (24 classrooms) in the Wilayat of A'Suwaiq in the Northern Al Batinah Region worth RO1,180,054; design and construction of subsidiary power plant (2x10 MVA, 33/11kv) in the Wilayat of Haima in the Al Wusta Region worth RO751,018; design and supply of lumbar blogs for vessel docking at Oman Dry Dock company worth RO641,296; updating six wards at the Royal Hospital worth RO530,628; construction of wastewater treatment plant with biological membranes technology in the Wilayat of Quriyat worth RO245,000; supply, installation and operation of maintenance equipment at the electrical engines workshop of Oman Dry Dock company worth RO334,819; additional works for the provision of consultancy services for the construction of the digital TV studios complex worth RO203,603; additional work for the wastewater system and the treated water network system for the waterfront development project worth RO164,032; additional works for the joint cooperation agreement between the Transport and Communications Ministry and the European Organisation for Satellite Investment worth RO160,785; and additional work for the provision of the consultancy service for the design and supervision of Ibri - A'Dareez/Maskan dual carriageway project, as well as, the dual carriageway of A'Dariz/Yanqul and Ibri/A'Dareez ring road worth RO112,400.
Bids opened
The board also opened bids for the following tenders: Tender No. 83/2010, construction of Bemah school for basic education for boys (16 classrooms) in Bemah in the Wilayat of Quriyat in Muscat Governorate; Tender No. 164/2010, improving the safety level at Wadi Al Khoudh Dam in Muscat Governorate; Tender No. 231/2010, general maintenance service for Oman Gas company; Tender No. 233/2010 supply and installation of the ready made hotel in A'Duqum; Tender No. 282/2010, supply of pesticides for Agriculture Ministry for locust and date palm tree diseases control; Tender No. 283/2010, supply and installation of medical equipment for the paediatric special care unit and delivery unit at Khoula Hospital; Tender No. 284/2010, supply of surgical tools for the Health Ministry for orthopaedic surgery; Tender No. 285/2010, supply of qualified trainers for Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals; Tender No. 294/2010, supply of copper (international); and Tender No. 295/2010, supply and installation of furniture for Oman Wastewater Services company in Al Ansab in Muscat Governorate.
