National Heaters mulls capacity expansion

MUSCAT: National Heaters Industries (NHI), the market leader in water heaters with its Hotex brand, is looking at expanding capacities - both in water heaters and Hotex steel division in the near future, a top-level company official told Times of Oman.
The company is unveiling a new product in water heaters called Hotex Slim today, said Suresh Mohandas, chief executive officer of National Heaters Industries.
"This product is the result of clearly enunciated need from architects and consultants."
He also said that his company has a market share in the region of 70 per cent to 75 per cent in water heaters in the domestic market.
NHI has doubled its turnover in heaters in the last five years.
"The capacity is constantly being expanded with investments in machinery, technology and process improvements," Mohandas added.
Water heaters, purifiers
Referring to the demand for water heaters and purifiers, the CEO said the housing and commercial construction has slowed down after the boom years of 2007
and 2008.
"There are sure signs of recovery albeit at a very slow pace." Referring to exports, the company chief said, "Historically, nearly 50 per cent of our production is exported. Our exports are mainly to the Gulf Cooperation Councils states. But we also have loyal markets in East and North Africa." Hotex enjoys enormous loyalty and trust in the local market. "Our consistent quality and unmatched customer service has been the key to our maintaining our customer loyalty." ohandas also said that certain cheap imitations try to penetrate on the single dimension of price. Little do they realise that the Omani customer is not easily misled and place their trust on products and brands after careful and long term evaluation.
"Our 25 years history and millions of customers is a journey of trust and delivering value consistently."
