His Majesty issues Royal Grants

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has issued two Royal Grants for beneficiaries of social insurance programmes.
The first grant doubles the monthly pension salary for Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha each year.
The second exempts the beneficiaries of the income-generating project loans.
These Royal Grants by His Majesty the Sultan come on the occasion of the Sultanate's 40th glorious National Day celebrations since the commencement of the Blessed Renaissance march and as continuation of His Majesty the Sultan's ceaseless grants to all sections and categories of His Majesty's subjects.
Dr Sharifa bint Khalfan Al Yahyaeiyah, minister of social development said these two grants stem from His Majesty the Sultan's belief in the importance of caring and welfare of the Omanis, who are the base and the target of the development process, as outlined by His Majesty since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance.
The first grant will increase the pension salaries received by beneficiaries of the social insurance programmes to 15 pension salaries a year. Doubling the pension salary for these three occasions will help social insurance families to improve their living standards, especially when expenditure on these occasions is high, she said.
The second grant exempts the beneficiaries of the income-generating project loans from the payment of the remaining instalments.
The grant will benefit 315 social insurance families, their equivalent and disabled, who obtained loans to set up their projects to increase their income while they are still paying these loans, she added.
The minister called upon those who have been relieved from the payment of the remaining loan instalments to double their efforts and use the grant as a momentum to develop their projects and improve their financial status. She affirmed that the ministry is fully ready to assist them in achieving this aim.
Concluding her statement, the minister expressed her thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for the continuous Royal Grants to the social insurance families and their equivalent.
She prayed to Allah the Almighty to grant His Majesty the Sultan long life, good health and reward him for such good deeds.
