Al Nahda Hospital functioning gets back to normal

Muscat: Health Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed A'Saeedi, yesterday hailed the efforts undertaken which led to partial resumption of work at the Al Nahda Hospital.

He pointed out that the efforts undertaken by administrative, medical and paramedical staff at the hospital, as well as other health establishments of the Ministry, SQU Hospital, Armed Forces Hospital, Civil Defence, Oman Dentistry College and volunteers, contributed in the resumption of work at the hospital after the temporary halt due to water-logging. The collaboration of efforts has led to providing health services to the patients, he said.

While visiting Al Nahda Hospital to review the progress of work, he pointed out that the combined efforts have played a big role in maintaining the hospital's services and making it ready to receive patients in a record time. This was done despite the heavy damage caused to the hospital, its medical equipment and its specialised clinics due to the heavy rains that flooded the hospital before the Eid Al Adha holidays.

He also pointed out that part of the dental services clinic and maxilofacial surgery service will be provided by the hospital from tomorrow. The other maxillofacial specialties will be conducted at the Oman Dentistry College till the medical equipment are in working order. The other departments and clinics will resume full-fledged operations in the coming days.

He affirmed that the Ministry seeks to utilise all necessary equipment to ensure smooth functioning of work. Till then, the assistance of the medical equipment in other health establishments will be sought to meet the needs of the patients coming to the hospital.

He pointed out that other departments in the hospital, such as operation rooms, will resume work later on due to some technical reasons. The authorities are trying to ensure that they are free of bacteria.
